WoW Team Issues WoTLK Classic Gold Statement, Vows to Eliminate "Not Relevant" Game References Game

The World of Warcraft development team has released a statement addressing the issues raised in the lawsuit brought by California's discrimination lawyers in the case of Activision Blizzard. The announcement was made available on the MMO's official Twitter account and on the official website for the game with the signature of "The World of Warcraft team."

The message acknowledges the pain of the women who were said to be targeted or discriminated against. The message states that the studio will require steps to assist World of Warcraft to get into a better situation. The message adds that "we will also take immediate action in Azeroth to get rid of references that aren't appropriate to our time."

While it is not directly said what specific references will be taken out of both World of Warcraft Classic it appears likely that the team will be taking out all references to the the former Director Alex Afrasiabi, who was mentioned buy WOW WoTLK Classic Gold within the case. Afrasiabi - who resigned from the company at the end of summer 2020 -- was reported to regularly assault women within the company, try to kiss them, then throw his arms around women's necks.
