Tools
The right tools are available is essential when you are out in the field. This kit was developed to meet that need and contains all the basic hand tools necessary to repair things in the field. The tools are made of metal and have minimal plastic so they can withstand use. The kit includes the pouch made of canvas that is zippered to hold the coalcracker's tools, a reamer, twist awls, cutting shears and gimlets (5MM). It also comes with a bottle of coalcracker oil, illustrated instructions and a wooden spool an reamer, and a twist an awl.

Repair Patches
If you've a hole or two in your gear, consider adding adhesive patches to your rep kit. These heavy-duty patches have a high-performance glue already applied on a rugged polyurethane back that allows a tear under pressure to recover. These patches are available in color or clear versions. rep kits provide durability against punctures as well as moisture, sunlight as well as extreme temperatures and saltwater.
If your kit does not include one of the items mentioned above, you may want to consider adding a waterproof Aquaseal wader sealant. This water-tight adhesive will stick to plastics, fabrics metals and other materials for a permanent fix. It's great for repairing drysuits, and can be applied while on the job. Allow the sealant to cure for up to 12 hours before applying the repaired gear.
The essential field fabric kit for packs, tents and rainwear made of silicone-impregnated nylon. It includes one Clean Tape patch and a sil nylon repair swatch, plus a 1/4 ounce tube of Gore-Tex Silfix repair adhesive and sealant, as well as a brush. Apply patch to a clean, smooth surface. Allow a minimum 1/2 inch overlap. Remove the release paper and rub the adhesive side down with moderate finger pressure.
