Rep kits are a great method to fix your gear before you can get to the trailhead to have it fixed professionally. The challenge is knowing what to do with it if you ever need it.

Tools
It is important to have the right tools on the go when you are in the field. This kit was designed with this in mind and contains all of the basic hand tools needed to repair equipment in the field. The tools are made from steel with minimal plastic to ensure they can withstand use. The kit includes an open-top canvas coalcracker tools pouch, reamer, twisted awl cutting shears and the gimlet (5MM) sinue spool made of wood, a bottle of coalcracker oil and a set illustrated instructions.

Repair Patches
If you've got a hole or two in your gear, think about adding some adhesive patches to your rep kit. These patches made of heavy-duty materials have high-performance glue already applied on a durable polyurethane back that allows a tear under pressure to heal. These patches are available in transparent or colored versions. They offer durability against punctures as well as sunlight, water and extreme temperatures.
If your kit does not contain any of the above items, think about adding a bag with waterproof Aquaseal wader repair sealant. This water-tight glue will bond to fabrics, plastics, metals and other materials for permanent repair. It's perfect for repairing drysuits and can be applied while on the job. Let the sealant cure for at least 12 hours prior to using the repaired gear.
The essential field fabric kit for tents, packs, and rainwear made of silicone-impregnated polyester. The kit comes with one Clean Tape patch and a sil-nylon repair sample as well as a 1/4 ounce tube of Goretex Sil-Fix repair adhesive sealant and brush. Apply patch to a clean smooth, flat surface. Allow a minimum 1/2 inch overlap. Remove sign up for avon from the patch surface and rub the adhesive with moderate finger pressure (adhesive side up).
Surface preparation is vital to ensure successful repairs. Oils on boots or shoes sunblock, solvents such as Acetone could affect adhesion. Use Seam Grip with Cotol 240 Cure Accelerator to get the best results.
Adhesive patches
These adhesive patches are perfect for those who don't wish to sit around waiting to get back on the trail. Apply the self-adhesive patch, then roll it over.
Use the tube-scuffer to roughen up the surface. This will aid the glue stick. Then spread a thin layer of glue over the patch to cover an area that is at least as big as the patch itself. Wait a few minutes for the glue to turn tacky before pressing the patch into place and holding it firmly in place.
This kit contains two clear, adhesive backed Tenacious Tape pressure sensitive fabric patch for repair and a 1/4 ounce tube of Seam Grip urethane repair adhesive sealant. It is perfect for reinforcing damaged sleep bags, rainwear and other packs.
