In our tests we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a range of flooring surfaces, ranging from medium-pile to hard carpets and rug. It also performed well with vinyl, and laminate flooring. It also did a good job of navigating between furniture and objects although it did struggle with stairs, and can accidentally crash into things like bookcases.
We liked the feature that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin once it's full, which significantly reduces hands-on maintenance needs. The dust bag should last for around 30 loads, or about two months, and you'll have to replace the filter once every so often (which is actually recommended by iRobot). We've found that the iRobot S9+ doesn't get loud during operation, so it's a good choice for people who live with kids or pets.
Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is a fantastic choice for those living in multi-floored apartments. Dual motors provide it with impressive cleaning power, and the vacuum's 0.6l dustbin can store plenty of pet hair. The dustbin can be taken away and emptied with ease which is beneficial because you'll need to clean it regularly.
It's also easy to set it up, though I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. You'll need to install the Eufy Home app and follow the directions for connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Once you've done that, the app will help you create an accurate map of your home. You can label the rooms, break rooms into sub-rooms in order to make it easier for open-plan living and guide the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas that need to be cleaned at a certain time. Eufy's app is more user-friendly and precise than other robots that have similar scanning and mapping functions.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can activate the mop or vacuum via voice thanks to its integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a wonderful feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It worked well in our test home.

The robot doesn't have as many features as some of the more expensive models we tested, but it has all the basics. It has a big enough dust bin to hold plenty of dirt before it needs emptying, and its mop and vacuum system is great for carpets with low pile and hard floors. It is also very quiet. We could watch TV while it cleaned without feeling like we were bombarded with the sound.
Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to install and use, and were impressed with its ability to get all the mess out of their flooring. It even did a pretty good job at removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, but it was not as effective in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choices lists from reliable sources that test hands-on, but it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was simple to use and set up, but the battery life was a bit short.
