Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid to take on the stairs. However, just like any other mop or vacuum it is prone to getting blocked by debris such as stray tennis shoes ribbons, beads and play jewelry, yarn, or other objects that are loose.
The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms and create no-go zones. It also lets you track your mops's progress and battery condition.
iRobot Combo j7+
The Combo j7+ is a robot vacuum and mop that combines smart mapping capabilities of iRobot along with the ability to deal with spills. It is equipped with the same onboard acoustic sensor and iAdapt 2.0 Navigation as other Roomba models and maps your home seven times more quickly than previous versions. It can also be set to keep Out Zones and Clean Zones to inform the robot which areas it should avoid and when it should clean them.
The most notable feature of the j7 is its robotic arm, which keeps the mop pad locked away when not in use and lowers it to tackle carpeting or hard flooring. The concept is to prevent spraying water on the rug and the Combo j7+ does a good job of it during my tests. The robot stopped when it came across a rug and didn't try to cross it, even when I moved the rug around a few times.
The arm has a 240mL tank which can be easily pulled out and filled, making it easier to manage than the mop pads of many other 2-in-1 robots. It is equipped with iRobot PrevisionVision technology to avoid obstacles, which is more advanced than other systems similar to it.
iRobot Combo i5

The i5+ is equipped with dual multi-surface rubber brush and Power-Lifting suction that can tackle dirt and dust as well as pet hair and staining. When it's time to mop, simply swap between the Mopping Bin and a compatible cleaning solution.
The i5+ runs iRobot OS and is smarter as you use it. It creates a Smart Map, which remembers the names of rooms and your cleaning preferences. You can then instruct it to clean your room or set a timer for a complete area of your home using the iRobot app.
iRobot is able to recognize household clutter, such as bags, shoes, cords and toys. It will then automatically stop and return to the docking station, allowing it time to recharge and finish the cleaning task at a later time. It also supports voice commands with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant, understanding around 600 voice commands, which is more than any other 2-in-1 robot.

The i3 Plus still has a bunch of other excellent features too like its advanced cleaning system with 10x power-lifting suction and a three-stage cleaning process. It also has a textured surface to ward off dust, fingerprints and hairs of pets.
It cleans most debris and is a great choice for carpets that are not bare, but it did have issues with pet hair on low-pile carpets. It does an excellent job on carpets with a lot of pile and is much quieter than its rivals. The i3 is a little more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max but it comes with a self-emptying system which emptys the dirtbag, replenishes its water reservoir and cleans its mop pads.
With the i3 application, you can create schedules for cleaning at a time that is suitable for your needs. You can also control your robot using your voice assistant to begin or stop cleaning. It has a complete set of sensors and navigation capabilities that allow it to stay clear of obstacles such as furniture and cords.
It also comes with an upgraded battery that will last longer and a self-emptying mode that reduces the frequency of emptying the bin.
