World of Warcraft WoTLK Classic Gold Classic, the retro-themed re-release of WoW in its near-original state it will go live on the 27th of August in 2019. Blizzard has announced the date of release alongside a nifty collector's edition but you do not have to wait until the season to play the game. A closed beta has also started as of May 15.

The beta participants were selected from a smaller selection of existing WoW players. Stress tests to follow will take place throughout the month of May and July. You can opt in through the official site.

World of Warcraft Classic lets players play the game as it was more than 15 years ago. This was prior to the release of 1.12 "Drums of War" update. Blizzard says it considers that era to be the right balance for the game in its initial launch condition, but also having removed some of the issues that were present in the launch. The version includes certain updates in the game's core such as the modern server infrastructure and Battle.net game features that socialize.

If you're already a WoW subscriber, you'll have access to Classic in addition to Classic for no cost. WoW Classic will also be releasing content in phases, following the initial order of content releases.

Blizzard also announced more details about the upcoming Rise of Azshara update. P2Pah spoke with the project's leads regarding this update's emphasis on personal stories, the flexibility of the update as well as bringing back players who were lapsed, and more.
