The Q Revo is a good option if you're looking to buy a mid-priced robot vacuum and mop. It gives a great mopping experience, but it lacks the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
In tests, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet as well as pet hair on hard floors. However, unlike other models, it doesn't use LIDAR to map out your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the top-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, including an area for dirt that is built into the charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest schedules that are automatic to ensure you have a hands-free experience.
It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is set up it can begin automatic cleaning with a single button. You can opt for an overall clean that focuses on the removal of large debris such as rice and cereal or two thorough mappings of your home to ensure that your home is properly arranged.
This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It can pick up pet hair and sucks large objects up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot promises it will improve in the future with new models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it hug walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used, but we found it only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with superior filtration, which prevents microscopic particles and allergens recirculating in your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the price price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of a combination of sensors to keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and to tidy up your entire house in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundaries so that the robot knows what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vac settings are as effective as those of higher-end models, and its mopping system is better still--its spinning pads do a much better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only downside is that it does not have an additional rubber brush for deeper cleaning, but that's an affordable cost to pay if want one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank also larger than many of its rivals, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.
For the mopping device, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less abrasive than the higher-powered ones produce little noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without interruption. If it encounters the wall or a piece of furniture it gently smacks into it before moving forward.
What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background and washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is capable of alerting you when something requires attention, such as the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session that was cancelled due to a full dust bin.
You can also create and merge rooms to modify the way that Q Revo treats your abode. This is a great feature to have if you have several rooms in your home that have different flooring materials or if there's some clutter that must be cleaned out frequently, like clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac was also one of the best performers in my test and was able to remove debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors with the first attempt. It can also remove wet spills however I would recommend cleaning them off with a cloth before sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd expect from a high-end robot vacuum and mop combo and more. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with a powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, and the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also has an automatic cleaning station that washes and empties the mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also has a new sensor system that can better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture and other objects.
The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its modern, sleeker design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang Olufsen product line. The robot is still quite large. It is more than two feet in the height and depth and weighs in at least four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger dustbin that is more durable to hold more debris and is easier to empty when needed.
Finally it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app as well as an assistant voice that works offline, allowing you to use it even if you're away from home. It also comes with an intelligent routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The Omni X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested due to its mop pads rotating to clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding, and it also increases suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as efficient as the ones we've seen on an ordinary robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and vacuum robot that comes with a range of convenience features that you don't often see on robots in this price range. It is able to build detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types and is among the few that can automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These features are nice, but they also make the L10s more of a class of luxury. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It's slim and tall, with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture when you are moving around your home. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum there is a single button which serves as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and clicking it again will turn off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The circular menu at the center of the control panel lets you to select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons will allow you to access the settings in the app, where you can alter the way the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Like click here and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to help you map out your home. This produces a precise floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop effectively and avoid getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris from our hardwood floor test and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stain. Its mops also perform well and remove 98.4 percent of the debris from our tile, carpet, and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor or Quaker oats on carpet.
