Shark RV1001AE IQ
This budget self-emptying robot does an okay job on hard floors and carpets with a low pile. Its combinator brush gets to the edges and corners, and automatically boosts suction once it spots carpet. It is also effective at cleaning dirt that is embedded in the middle of the pile carpet. The IQ's tiny dock footprint and self-emptying feature are nice touches. If you wish to alter the floor level or set no-go areas, you'll need to manually reset the map.
The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated functions, however it does not have no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing system of the app permits for better maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is effective however it can be caught on the tassels of the rug.
In our tests in our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair with ease, removing an impressive amount of debris from floors with no flooring and fair amounts on medium-pile carpet. It was less efficient on shag carpets, which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust embedded in the fibers. It did a decent job of maneuvering around chair legs, tight spaces, and the bottom of an wooden IKEA step stool. It was a bit slower on floors with no flooring, but it regained speed and performed better than the other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life, and is better in navigating around obstacles. It comes with a mopping tool that can clean up sticky mess. On the other side, the iRobot feels better-built and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and can even create virtual no-go zones with its companion app. It can even resume a cleaning session from where it left off in case it has run out of battery before having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice, which is a huge plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S eufy robot vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it provides powerful cleaning power at affordable prices. The RoboVac 11S is designed for budget-conscious consumers who do not require a complicated mapping system, or even an app, to control it. This robot can last for up to an hour. It comes with an remote control, a cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.
The 11S is slim, sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a nice change from the utilitarian and industrial designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.
In our tests, the eufy 11S was excellent at picking up large particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean medium and high-pile carpets. It is also prone to hit furniture and people that are in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. When it encounters them, it ceases to move and emits a loud sound so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and get back to work.
Another excellent feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match the floor type and the level of dirt. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S in the direction you'd like it to move.
Single Room Mode is a great alternative if you have a small amount of furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.
Edge Cleaning is another option that reduces the time that is spent on each area to 20 minutes. This will extend the battery's life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner, cleaning corners and edges.
Miele Complete C1
