Volvo drivers are enthralled by the remote control features of their key fob. By using a smartphone application, they can lock and unlock the car or start the engine and even locate it.
Place the key fob's face up on a clean surface. Find the button to let it go. Place a coin in between the cover of the fob and the fob, then carefully pull it up.
Unlocking the Doors
Volvo's remote key fobs are able to unlock the doors, tailgate and fuel filler flap of your vehicle with a press of a button. They also can turn on the ignition, turn off the alarm, and even operate the sunroof if it's fitted. It's no longer necessary to search for your keys, or have to worry about locking out of your vehicle.
If you own a brand new Volvo model from our dealership, then you may not be aware of its key fob hidden features. One of them is an unlocked and lock button that can be pressed in the event the battery on your key fob goes out.
To press the manual lock/unlock switch to unlock your key fob, place it with the Volvo logo facing up. Find the black button at the edge of your key fob, and gently press it. This will open a cover that is a cover for the key blade that is manual. You will require a flathead screwdriver or coin to flip the cover counterclockwise, ensuring that the arrow is aligned with "open."
Starting the Engine
Modern Volvo key fobs offer a level of convenience and function that is unmatched by traditional manual keys. But, just like any other battery-powered electronic device key fobs may lose its charge or stop working after a certain period of time. If you notice that your key fob is less responsive when you hit the lock or unlock button, it might be time to replace its battery.
You can activate this feature using the key fob if your car has a dealer-installed Engine Remote Start. The car will then cool or heat to the exact temperature it was at when parked. It will operate for up to 15 minutes.
Remove the cover on the back of the key fob by using your fingernail. Under the cover on a diagonal close to the edge of body, you will find a button. Slide it down and to the right. The cover will then fall open and slide off to reveal the manual key blade inside! If you're unable to locate the button, look around the now-uncovered manual key access for a lever or slot.
Close the Windows

One of the hidden features on Volvo key fobs is the ability to close all windows instantly using them. This is useful when trying to squeeze into a cramped parking spot, or even just when you're in need of fresh air inside the cabin while driving.
Press and hold the unlocking button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower all of the windows, and also the sunroof if your vehicle has one. Then, when you're finished with the car you can shut everything by pressing the lock button again for four seconds.
You can also use your key fob to turn on your car's panic alarm. It will emit the alarm sound loud enough to draw attention to the car and deter thieves. It can also help you get home safely even if you've been out for the night. This feature is helpful should you reside in a hazardous area, or want to ensure the safety of your family while away from home.
Opening the Tailgate
The key fob of Volvo is loaded with useful features. They are ideal when you're swamped with shopping, or helping your children take their sports gear home after a workout.
If you own the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) Then you can open it using the key fob. Press the button to open it, and use the same button to close it once you're done.
Utilize the key fob when you are ready to start your vehicle. (Don't be concerned if your battery is dead or if the car won't start since it also has an electronic key slot). This is only one of many useful trick to use with your new Volvo.

Turning off the Alarm
Modern key fobs provide many advantages over a traditional mechanical car key. They can't always function perfectly and batteries may go out. If you're in a hurry or aren't keen on going to an establishment to have your key fob programmed, you can attempt to achieve it at home.
Find a clean work surface and lay out your key fob, battery, and other keys. Place the key fob in a place with the Volvo logo facing up Then, locate a small black button to the left-hand side of the fob and slide it down and to the right. volvo key fob should fall off and fall off and reveal the mechanical key blade underneath.
Press the key fob's unlock button two times quickly, and you should be able open all doors and the tailgate. By pressing the lock button for two minutes, you are able to close the windows and shut the sunroof if they are equipped. Connect the battery and the alarm will stop. If it doesn't, the owner's manual should have a way to reset the system.
