These concerns raise concern, Kotick said. However, he also acknowledged the fact that Activision Blizzard will be able bring value to shareholders by using the same methods that have made it one of the largest publishing houses over the last 20 years.

"For these reasons, we remain cautious," he said. "However our shrewd and controlled approach to company has proven to be successful in the past and by investing in our business and carefully managing our costs we hope to continue delivering shareholder value over the long run, just as we have been doing for the past two decades."Activision is holding a post-earnings financial call.

To manage the volume of players who want to try for the WoW Classic demonstration, Blizzard has implemented a 60-minute limit on playtime. Also, there's a 90-minute cooling down time as well.
