Volvo drivers are enthralled by the remote control capabilities of their key fob. They can lock and unlock their vehicle, start the motor, and even locate it using the smartphone app.

First, put the fob of the key on an even surface, with the logo side facing upward. Find the button to let it go. Place a coin between the cover of the fob and the fob, then carefully pull it up.

Locking the Doors

The cover will fall loose and slide off, revealing the manual key blade! If you're still having trouble finding the button, look around the newly revealed manual key access to determine whether there is a hidden slot or lever.

Close the Windows

One of the lesser-known features that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is that you can lower all windows immediately when you use them. This is a great feature when you are trying to squeeze into parking spaces that are tight or just want to breathe fresh air while driving.

Press and hold the unlocking button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower the windows and the sunroof, should you have one. Once you're done with the car you can lock everything by pressing the lock button for four seconds.

You can also set off the panic alarm inside your car using the key fob. This will make a loud noise that will draw attention and deter thieves. It will also assist you return to your home in a safe manner in the event that you've been away all night. This feature is useful for those who live in a hazardous area or want to protect your family members when they are away.

Opening the Tailgate

Volvo has packed its key fobs with variety of useful features. They are great if you're slammed with groceries or helping kids pack their sports equipment after a workout.

You can open all the doors and the rear gate by pressing the unlock button on the key fob twice.
