Then slide the cover back towards the key-ring loop until it becomes loose and falls off. Then, you can remove the cover and reveal the key blade inside. You can use this to unlock your car from the driver's doors when you've lost or damaged the key fob.

Note: Some older Volvos are powered by a different kind of battery which is the CR2025. CR2025 batteries have 7 tenths of millimeters less than a CR2032 which means you'll need to be extra cautious when replacing your battery.
